Fireworks in Sydney Sky Celebrate Australia Day with Meyer Sound MILO and Coda Audio

Australia Day, the country's official national day, is a celebration of the first European settlement on the continent. With over 5,000 events planned across Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales and beyond, the myriad of celebrations across the country traditionally draw well over eight million people. This year's Australia Day weekend concluded with the popular Sydney Ports Jazz on the Water concerts and a spectacular fireworks display, organized by the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority and produced by Andrew Lopez and Adam Huie. An audience of over 150,000 packed the Cockle Bay in Darling Harbour for the concerts and fireworks, powered by a robust Meyer Sound system.

Provided by Sydney-based Coda Audio, the sound system was staged on an 80-foot high floating platform in the city's Darling Harbour. The system included four separate hangs of Meyer Sound line arrays, including twin arrays of ten M3D line array loudspeakers each, as well as two more arrays of 12 MICA line array loudspeakers which were recently added to Coda's arsenal of tools. Powerful sub bass was provided by M3D-Sub directional subwoofers and 700-HP subwoofers.

In addition to their new MICA line array loudspeakers, Coda Audio also purchased Meyer Sound 700-HP subwoofers and Galileo loudspeaker management system late last year, christening their use at the recent Sydney Festival, where the systems were at work on six different stages simultaneously.
